City of Fairfax Firing Range

Branch Builds constructed the City of Fairfax Firearms Training Center, a facility shared by the City of Falls Church police department and George Mason University. This new facility was constructed on the site of the former training facility, which was demolished as the first phase of the project. The 7,362sf structure includes eight firing lanes and provides a classroom, simulation training room, weapons cleaning room and a mechanical mezzanine. The building is a CMU structure with a concrete roof assembly over the shooting lanes and bar joist with metal decking over the remainder of the building. The mechanical system was designed to mitigate harmful fumes and the odors associated with the firing of weapons.
