Washington & Lee University - Sorority House #6
LEED Certified Construction • Commercial/Residential Blend • High End Finishes • Challenging Hillside Site
Sorority House No. 6 is the latest Greek life house built on the campus of Washington and Lee University. The finished project is home to the local chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. It contains living, dining, and social areas as well as study lounges, sorority administrative spaces, and a prep kitchen. The house character and layout echoes the five adjacent sorority houses. It is a 3-story wood frame building with brick veneer & intricate trim work. Exterior highlights include a standing seam copper roof and the Brazilian hardwood rotunda porch. Interiors include flamed granite tile and quartersawn oak flooring, mahogany trim accents, and other high-end finishes throughout. The site is roughly 1/2 acre and received extensive adaptive landscaping. A brick walkway laid in a herringbone pattern helps to tie the six houses together. The project was constructed to achieve LEED Certified status.
