South Lakes High School

Branch Builds, Inc. is constructing a two level 38,959SF addition to this high school located in Reston, Virginia. The building originally constructed in the 1970’s, expanded and extensively renovated in 2006/2007, is home to a rapidly growing, renowned International Baccalaureate program, attracting students from throughout Fairfax County. The project adds twenty-two general classrooms and five laboratories with associated chemical storage and prep rooms, along with restroom facilities to ease overcrowding and allow for the removal of portable classrooms. Two of the sides of the addition, connect to the existing facility, as such associated demolition and connections to existing mechanical and electrical systems will be performed during session breaks, along with remedial finish work to minimize disruption to educational activities and provide a safe environment. Site improvements will include modifications to existing drive aisles and parking to provide additional. On site construction commenced in December 2016 with completion scheduled for December 2017.
